Sandbridge Beach is the most private area in Virginia Beach. Instead of boasting high rise motels, hotels and resorts on a busy boardwalk, it is a quiet 6 mile stretch with only residential and vacation homes.
The beaches are wide, the waves are usually calm, and most homes have few dunes between them and the ocean. This allows for a beautiful first floor view for poolside receptions. And, because the beaches are wide and public parking is limited to two areas on the strip, you can usually hold your ceremony without having to have strangers close to your ceremony setup.
Sandbridge is a hidden gem that few Outer Banks vacationers know about. Once the northern tourists experience it, they are sold on this beach being at least a 1.5 to 3 hour drive closer for them. But, if you have surfers in your family, they will still want the famous Outer Banks waves, and there is many more family activities and historic venues to experience on the OBX.
