Location Wedding Packages
11th Hour Weddings and Events can create a tailored experience for you at this beautiful historic Edenton Venue. Large or intimate, we will use your vision and budget to give you the Ceremony and Reception of your dreams.
Each of our Event Packages include:
- Use of the outdoor spaces and first floor of the home (for bridal dressing) for a full day. The interior space includes a bridal dressing room, parlor room, dining room, and private restroom.
- Use of grounds for 1 hour for a ceremony rehearsal the day prior to the wedding.
- Free use of the grounds for professional engagement photography on a scheduled date (subject to availability).
- Plenty of on-site parking.
- Restroom facilities for events hosting up to 50 guests. For larger gatherings, you will need to rent a portable restroom. (We can assist with arranging this service.)
- Rental of a tent is required for events over 50 people.
- Option to have a rehearsal dinner on the porch at a discounted rate, plus food and drinks.

Romantic and full of Southern Hospitality
Celebrate new beginnings at Ingleside Estate! This meticulously restored home, with its five acres of well-manicured lawns, is located in the picturesque town of Edenton, North Carolina, often referred to as the “Prettiest Small Town in the South.” Ingleside Estate is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding where you can create your own history.
Ingleside Estate was built in 1900 by Will Oscar Speight for his wife and seven children. The home is also historically known as the “Speight House.”
Mr. Speight, who was also the owner of Edenton Brick Works, built this beautiful Queen Anne style home that boasts a wrap-around veranda with southern-style rocking chairs, perfect for sitting and sipping champagne. Minnie Perry Speight, his wife, designed the grand home, that features a fireplace in each of the main rooms and luxurious bedrooms throughout. Mrs. Speight named the property Ingleside, which translates to “fireside” in Old English. Its grandeur and detailed fireplaces, wormwood original floors, transoms, and grand staircase are just some of home’s attributes. The property is also the site of a brick Cotton Gin with an arched entry, old smokehouse, pergola, and the only brick modern outhouse in North Carolina.
Couples choosing to tie-the-knot at Ingleside Estate can enjoy a large Bridal Suite and Salon for wedding day preparations and photos. The Grand Lawns are nestled with majestic magnolia trees and huge pecan trees that can provide a stunning backdrop for your ceremony, reception, or rehearsal dinner. The patio area features a rose garden, bistro tables and chairs, bar, outdoor firepit, and café lights, providing a romantic setting for cocktail hour or small receptions.
Ingleside Estate was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and was renovated in 2018. Brandon and Heather Pfahlert bought the home and its accompanying acreage in 2022. “We were fortunate to purchase this beautiful home and are enjoying raising our nine children here,” said Heather Pfahlert. “We’re thrilled to share this stately home with others though weddings and special events. Our home was truly meant to be used for gatherings and celebrations.”
The Southern hospitality of the Speights has transferred down to the Pfahlert family. Since they opened Ingleside Estate for public and private events, the Pfahlerts have hosted rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, cocktail parties, and bridal brunches, all with the same kindness, warmth, and welcoming of visitors to their home as the original owners. The property is also available to rent for corporate events, private functions, and galas.
The addition of a Bridal Cottage, to be completed in 2023, will add the amenity of an onsite home that can be rented for overnight accommodations. This quaint house was once an old cotton mill cottage that was moved to the property in the 1940s.
For wedding guests, the town of Edenton offers several lodging options, including quaint bed & breakfasts, Airbnb rentals, and a choice of hotel accommodations. The town also has a variety of restaurants offering everything from upscale dining to more casual dining choices.
